Principal's Corner
Principal Kay
Dear OPE Families,
Hello and welcome to Olivenhain Pioneer Elementary School. I am very excited to be joining the OPE family this school year! I am so grateful for the incredible welcome and support I've already received as I transition to OPE as the new principal.
OPE has a long history as a remarkable school of amazing students, stellar staff, supportive families, and involved community members. As we prepare to start the 2024-2025 school year I have no doubt this year will be another incredible year of learning and joy for the OPE community. With approximately 540 students, OPE has a strong and robust community centered around supporting our students.
Staff are committed to ensuring each and every student is supported and challenged throughout the school year with their academics. We are equally focused on the well-being of all students and prioritize social-emotional learning within our school. A strong focus on our positive school culture, kindness, respect, responsibility, and caring support our efforts to meet the needs of every student. When you visit our campus, I am confident you will feel the love, care, and academic achievements of our community of learners.
Our partnership with families are an integral part of our school's success. Parents are often volunteering in classrooms, helping run events, and creating initiatives to support our school community. We invite all families to be involved in our community through our School Site Council, Parent Teacher Association, and/or the Encinitas Education Foundation.
I am so honored to be a part of this school and district. Thank you to all our staff, parents, and community members who make each day meaningful for the students we serve. Together, we are preparing our students to be leaders in the 21st century.
Warmly,
Christie Kay
